REVIVING THE INDUSTRIES IN ABA FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH

International glass industries Aba, is an industry that really needs government attention, as Nigeria goes into automobile manufacturing, so as to locally produce glasses ranging from windscreen, mirror etc

Aba city and its environs is an industrial area which is located in the south eastern part of Nigeria, and also one of the economic giant of the south eastern Geo-political zone which extends its economic services to other parts of south-southern states and beyond, but due to some circumstances which includes neglect, poor funding and maintenance  that area has been left behind, but after a very close observation tour, we met with some people and asked some questions on how to make that area vibrant again, they pointed out some very key sectors that the federal and state government should place emphasis on to create employment for the youths and at the same time boost the Nigerian economy, these sectors includes.
1)Agro-allied industries-  (2) Textiles (3)Industrial minerals (4)plastic industries (5)chemical industries. Etc ,
But one out of the few companies that would create jobs and make a positive impact on the Nigerian economy is the sheet glass at International Glass Industries (IGI) Aba, which if fully in production it will assist the newly introduced automobile companies In producing auto windscreens, mirrors and glasses that vary, it will also produce glasses for housing, and also gain export opportunity
But presently the hollow glass plant produces pharmaceutical bottles which are been used by some pharmaceutical companies while the sheet glass is not in production for years, if international glass industries should start producing sheet glasses today, then Nigerian government will not be spending huge amount of money in glass importation but earn huge amount of money in exportation of glass products. A lot of industries need to be revived in Aba to enhance economic growth,
Making the right decision will always make things right, please try to think rightly by making positive inputs towards National growth.
